New Positions and Bigger Office Space Amid Explosive Growth and Return to In-person Work Model
Conducting business throughout a pandemic posed several challenges and opportunities. Amid this uncertainty, we were able to stay on course in terms of growth. As a result, we doubled our workforce by recruiting more marketing, design and customer service staff. This growth compelled us to make the obvious decision to expand our office space.
We relocated within the same building in the heart of downtown Tampa, just down the hall to a larger section nearly twice the size with plenty of room for future expansion. Our new office space will not only have additional workstations, but it will also have a more functional layout and furniture. This includes an expanded break area, bigger conference room, dedicated space for customer service and fulfillment, executive office, living room area with an X-box, and additional brainstorming area.
Flexible Hybrid Work Model
Even before the pandemic, we had a flexible work schedule and a monthly allotment of work from home time, and unlimited vacation. Now with employees more comfortable and capable with a work from home model post-pandemic, we decided to look into our policies regarding in-office requirements and work schedule. Policies now include up to 10 hours available to work from home throughout each week, and the ability to start and end their days anywhere between 7 am and 7 pm. This allows for a 4 day workweek if preferred, and the ability to split their time at home and in-office in a way that works best for their personal life and work habits.
We have always believed in empowering employees with the autonomy, ownership of their work, and decision making power, that allows them to be productive and fulfilled. This isn’t just a boilerplate statement, it’s truly part of our ethos. It includes the design of our office space, and thoughtful input from employees on policies, giving each individual the ability to create a schedule that works for them goes a long way for satisfaction and retention.
